It Takes an Act of Faith

There have been times in my life when I have felt encompassed in darkness.  I have also reached the point where I have wanted and even tried to end my life… but somehow, I am still here.  I am still needed, as are you.  You are needed.  The Lord needs YOU on HIS side.

Prayer can change the night to day.  It can cause troubled times to turn to light.  It makes us look at the world differently.  I love prayer and the time I have to spend with my Father in Heaven.  He helps me so very much.  I know He is there for each and every one of us.  He loves us.

I love to listen to children’s prayers, because they are so pure and straight-forward.  He truly does love them and each one of His children, which includes you and me.

As Simple as a Smile

People NEED you. Did you know that? People need to hear of your struggles and know of your successes in life. Life is such a precious gift… and this comes from one who has tried to take her own life before…It is a precious gift. I am so grateful to be alive today because of Christ and because of the smiles that I received and the love I have felt from others.

Christ is holding you. He understands. He knows.

Over and Over again

Sometimes with life happening, I wonder if trials will ever stop.  If hard times will ever be done being hard.  If life will be good again.  Perhaps you have wondered these things as well… If…. What if this or what if that?

Recently, I got out of the hospital after being an inpatient for one and a half months for severe major depression.  Life is not easy to get through when all you really care about is sleeping or when all you really want to do is die.  But our Heavenly Father does love us.  God is there for us.  He is there to help us through our hardest moments in life.  He is there.

Now to talk about the word if…

I have allowed this word to overtake me in my life sometimes… what if I wasn’t supposed to do what I just did?  If only I would have done this… If only I could be better…Satan is the author of the word if.  He uses it to plant seeds of doubt in each of our minds.  In fact He even used that word numerous times while tempting the Savior while the Savior was fasting for forty days and nights.  This is how the passage goes in the New Testament in Matthew chapter 4:

1 Then was Jesus aled up of the Spirit into the wilderness bto bectempted of the devil.

2 And when he had afastedbforty days and forty nights, che was afterward an hungred.

3 And when the atempter came to him, he said, If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bbread.

4 But he answered and said, It is written, aMan shall not blive bycbread alone, but by every dword that proceedeth out of theemouth of God.

aThen the devil taketh him up into the bholy city, and setteth him on a pinnacle of the temple,

aAnd saith unto him, bIf thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down: for it is written, He shall give his angels charge concerning thee: and in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone.

7 Jesus said unto him, It is written again, Thou shalt not atemptthe Lord thy God.

aAgain, the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth him all the bkingdoms of the world, and the glory of them;

aAnd saith unto him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me.

10 Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, aSatan: for it is written, Thou shalt bworship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.”

Satan ultimately has no power over us.  We have more power than He does or ever will.  We can cast Him away with the power of light that is inside each of us.  That power of light comes from Christ.  Christ is the one who we can look to when we are struggling.  He is the one who can really help us, even when it seems like nobody can.

What is causing you heartache in your life right now?  What is causing you pain?  Do you believe Christ can heal you?  That He can lift you higher?  Do you feel His light inside you?

Stand in the Light.

I challenge each of you to stand in the Light of Christ:

An Apostle’s words to the youth

We can follow the words of Christ as Elder L. Tom Perry explains in this video.

Shine Forth

We always have to be looking for ways to act as Christ would act.  We do not need to stand alone.  We are not standing alone as we stand with our Heavenly Father as President Uchtdorf advised to us.
