Good Enough

With Christ, we are good enough as long as we are striving to do what is right and true.  With Christ, we know enough and we are made perfect in Christ.  He loves you.  Lean on him in your hard times and trials.  He will be there for you.

Trials

"No pain that we suffer, no trial that we experience is wasted...All that we suffer and all that we endure, especially when we endure it patiently, builds up our characters, souls, and makes us more tender and charitable...It is through sorrow and suffering, toil and tribulation, that we gain the education that we come here to acquire." -Orson F. Whitney

Each of us will experience some of these trials during our lives…The challenges we face today are in their own way similar to those challenges from the past.

The Savior is there to help.  When we come to Him, He heals us and helps us to endure our trials.

Faith

Is this ever how you feel?

Is this ever how you feel?

If you have enough faith, then you can handle difficulties.

Prayer

Prayer can change the night to day.  It can cause troubled times to turn to light.  It makes us look at the world differently.  I love prayer and the time I have to spend with my Father in Heaven.  He helps me so very much.  I know He is there for each and every one of us.  He loves us.

I love to listen to children’s prayers, because they are so pure and straight-forward.  He truly does love them and each one of His children, which includes you and me.

How I Got Through…

Recently I have been pondering how I was able to make it through severe trials and deep, consuming depression in my life.  How was I able to make it from one day to the next when all I wanted to do was die?  Or lie in my bed and do nothing?  How did I make it?  How did I get through the day, the hour, or the minute?

While I admit that I tried some things that did not really help me, there were some things I did that did help.  The things that did help me during these times brought me closer to my Savior.

I would read His words.  I would read books written by those who taught and preached of Christ.  A couple I especially liked were:  “God Wants a Powerful People” by Sheri Dew and “Standing For Something” by President Gordon B. Hinckley.  Their words comforted me and reminded me of who I could turn to for true comfort and peace.

The Savior is there for each of us.  He has felt our pains and afflictions.  I know that as I experience hard times in my life I can turn to Him and to His words to provide me with comfort, peace, and love.  Hard times do not and will not last forever.  Our Heavenly Father desires our happiness.  As we give our burdens over to the Lord we are made lighter and we are better able to live our lives.

I know that through remembering the Lord in all we do, we can come closer to Him and we can make it through our trials.  I was able to get through because of Christ.  I know that you can as well.

Trials

“How you deal with life’s trials is part of the development of your faith.” –Russell M. Nelson

“Many times a particular challenge prepares us for something vitally important.” –Paul V. Johnson

A Quote and a video for the Day…

I am really impressed with this quote and thought I would share it with you today…. I may have shared it before, but it is such a good scripture:

“That which doth not edify is not of God, and is darkness.  That which is of God is light; and he that receiveth light, and continueth in God, receiveth more light; and that light groweth brighter and brighter until the perfect day.” –Doctrine and Covenants 50:23-24

Do the things that you do in your everyday life edify?  Do the things that you listen to, watch, or view edify you?

This video really touched me today.  I hope you are touched by it as well and perhaps want to be a little better because of it.
