What is most important in your life?
Life gets so crazy sometimes that we don’t even feel like we are living sometimes. The days, weeks, months, years fly by and we wonder what happened to all of the time that we once had.
How do we live our lives in such a way that we can focus on what truly matters most? How did our Savior live His life? Are we following His example?
The stages of life come and go but through it all the Lord is there for us. He loves us and wishes for us to share that love with others. Sometimes, we need to just slow down a little and actually allow ourselves to live. Other times we just need to get ourselves off the couch, away from the television, unglued from the things of the world to really appreciate the things that God has placed in our lives so that we might be happy.
How do we treat those we love? How do we treat those who we consider our enemies or those who we do not agree with?
The Savior told us to love our enemies, and bless them that curse us, and pray for them which despitefully use or persecute us. Do you do this? How can you improve?
How are you spending the time that you have in your life? Would you be ready if you died tomorrow? Why or why not? This life is the life for men to prepare to meet God as it says in the Book of Mormon in Alma 34:32-33:
“For behold, this life is the time for men to prepare to meet God; yea, behold the day of this life is the day for men to perform their labors.
And now, as I said unto you before, as ye have had so many witnesses, therefore, I beseech of you that ye do not procrastinate the day of your repentance until the end; for after this day of life, which is given us to prepare for eternity, behold, if we do not improve our time while in this life, then cometh the night of darkness wherein there can be no labor performed.”
Let us do what we can do now to come unto our Lord; to actually live as He would have us live. I know that as we do this we will be freed from the chains that bind us down and that we will feel lighter. The Savior lifts us up to more than we can be.
